In connection with your letter dated November tenth, I wish to adviese you that I will be only too happy to grant you herewith permission to print a few extracts of Schoenberg’s Five Orchestra Pieces in your review by Henry Cowell, which you intend to bring out in your January issue. I take this opportunity to advise you that the last revision Schoenberg made of this work was done in 1922, and I am in the process of publishing his new version of 1948. I am sending a copy of this letter to Mr. Schoenberg so that he may advise us or Mr. Cowell about his latest revision, so that this 1948 revision might be included in the review of Mr. Cowell.
