Dear Mr Hinrichsen:
I am not in the position to make this
contract about our publication of the Five Orchest-
ra Pieces
. My lawyer would ask at least $ 50 if
I come to him, because he is not an expert on
copyrights. He can read a contract, but I doubt
that he can make one as concerns copyright af-
fairs. But if you have nothing the like, then
I would ask find it best if you would take the
contract formula which Edward B. Marks Company
[use] (Mr Greissle) use, and add our special points.
I would agree with this contract, because it
does not contain any traps like the contract
of Schirmer and similar companies which I will
not sign. But this seems to me the easiest way
for you.
I sent your letter to the engraver. It is not
the Golden West Company itself, it is a very good
engraver, a German, who has worked for every firm
in Germany and who also seems to be excellent.
You will very soon see the copy which he will deliver.
He makes an excellent impression on me, and I am
sure you will also like what he does. His address is:
Oscar Herbert, 4557 Tujunga Ave., North Hollywood,
Calif.
I hope to hear from you before you go to Europe, and
in the mean time, I am with cordial greetings,

Sincerely yours,

R.H.
