Dear Mr. Hinrichsen:
I have been informed that you are
called the “ariseur“ of Universal-Edition, which
probably means that you handed it over to the
Nazis or bought it for them.
I am astonished about this, because what you told me
is contradictory to that. I would like to know
the real truth: where have you been during the
Nazi regime? Was your father a Jew, a half-Jew
or an Aryan?
You understand that I must be clear about this.
